Read the Old Testament book of Ruth in Hebrew. No Experience Required. This new class starts June 22nd, 2010.
Pastors: Please consider setting aside some time on Tuesday nights to prepare a sermon series on Ruth. This course is for pastors, but it is also for anyone who loves Christ and his Word. This is more than a sermon preparation course, it is a free Biblical Hebrew course!
The instructor has taught Hebrew at Midwestern Baptist College (Kansas City) to pastors and students preparing for seminary, and now is extending that to anyone who has aspiration to read the Bible of Jesus, Moses and the Prophets in their language.
All you need is a three-ring folder and a pencil (colored pencils are best, as we color words and ideas in the Hebrew text). Everything else will be provided — including Ruth in Hebrew.
When: Tuesday nights from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. You can jump in any time. We meet every Tuesday night.
Using an inductive method, we are creating a place for you to learn the Word of God according to your pace and you schedule. That means that you’ll never be behind.
I will be working with people according to their skill and desires, and others who are trained in the languages are present to assist.
Where: Eastside Church of the Cross, 1 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, Kansas.
Who: Anyone, any age. If you know Hebrew already, or if you don’t know any Hebrew at all, or if you want a refresher, then come join us.
Cost: Free
Tools: Everything you need will be provided for free. However, you will be shown how to use various tools that will assist you in your Hebrew knowledge. For example, you will be shown how to benefit from Page Kelley’s Biblical Hebrew, An Introductory Grammar. You will be shown where to buy your own Hebrew Bible (for a good price), where to find helps, software and charts for translating. None of these are required for this course, but you will learn what they are and how to find them.
